Public Art 2003 and 2006
The public art series of four paintings, made in 2003, for the Derby State Police Barracks is a reflection of the twenty-four hour - every day of the year - reality of the work of the State Police. The paintings are of the four seasons, at four different times of day, in four different places in the Northeast Kingdom that the state troopers serve. They also are an expression of the landscape that we all live in and work in, a landscape and climate that challenges and renews..
The series of four paintings for the South Royalton/Bethel Public Safety Facility, completed in 2006, is inspired by the same appreciation of the service of the state troopers at that facility in mid-Vermont and the landscapes are of the area served by the Vermont State Police in the central Vermont area.
